Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

About Platform Distribution & Partnerships: Platform Distribution and Partnerships is a division of NBCUniversal's media group responsible for the distribution and monetization of the company’s multi-billion-dollar linear and streaming services portfolio to pay-tv providers, NBC broadcast affiliates, consumer technology platforms and devices, and consumer brands. A key revenue-generator, the division is comprised of content distribution, affiliate relations and strategic partnerships across NBC, Peacock, Bravo, Telemundo and various FAST channels. 

The Vice President, Platform Distribution & Partnerships will report to the Executive Vice President, Platform Distribution & Partnerships and lead a team responsible for managing and growing MVPD, vMVPD and FAST distribution. This role oversees the negotiation, execution, and ongoing management of distribution agreements across major MVPDs, vMVPDs and FAST platforms for NBC networks and Peacock. The Vice President will drive strategic partner initiatives from incubation through implementation, ensuring strong execution and alignment with business objectives. This is a highly cross-functional role with touchpoints across Marketing, Product, Technology, Legal, Finance, Decision Sciences, Ad Sales, and Operations, requiring deep collaboration to maximize partner impact and optimize distribution strategies.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead negotiations and execution of distribution agreements for services across a diverse portfolio of platform partners, including MVPDs, vMVPDs and FAST platforms. 
  • Oversee and manage a team, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to maximize performance and impact. 
  • Develop and implement comprehensive partnership strategies to drive subscriber acquisition, engagement, and revenue growth for NBCU’s suite products. 
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with distribution partners, serving as a key point of contact to align on mutual goals, drive execution, and resolve challenges. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders—including marketing, product, content, finance, and legal—to support partnership initiatives, ensure operational excellence, and deliver on key business objectives. 
  • Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and platform performance to identify new growth opportunities, refine strategies, and inform decision-making. 
  • Structure, model, and evaluate partnership agreements to optimize terms and drive measurable business impact, balancing short-term objectives with long-term strategic positioning. 
  • Act as a thought leader within the organization, influencing internal stakeholders and advocating for innovative distribution approaches to maximize reach and engagement. 
  • Represent NBCUniversal at external meetings, industry events and partner engagements, reinforcing the company’s position as a leader in media distribution. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or digital media distribution within the television, film, or streaming industry. 
  • Extensive experience negotiating complex distribution agreements and managing high-profile partner relationships.
  • Direct experience with MVPD and vMVPD agreements and negotiations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the media landscape, business models, and evolving consumer behaviors in television and digital media. 
  • Proven ability to lead teams, fostering professional growth and a high-performance culture.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of the entertainment industry and NBCUniversal’s content and distribution ecosystem.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with FAST channels a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively present to senior leadership and external partners. 
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment, demonstrating adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a results-driven mindset. 
  • Strong strategic thinker with experience structuring creative partnership agreements that balance financial, operational, and strategic objectives. 
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects and stakeholders while maintaining focus on business priorities and execution excellence.
  • MBA or JD a plus but not required. 

Additional Requirements:

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $195,000 - $240,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible)
