Job DescriptionNBC News Audience Insights & Analytics is seeking a Consumer Insights Analyst to deepen our understanding of what motivates and engages our audiences. In this role, you will design and interpret quantitative research (surveys) and qualitative studies (focus groups, online communities, content analysis) to understand the connection points that draw viewers to NBC News brands like TODAY, Nightly News, Meet the Press, Dateline, and NBC News NOW. Your insights will directly influence editorial, marketing, product, and ad-sales strategies across linear and digital platforms. Responsibilities:
- Work with the Director of Consumer Insights to support the NBC News editorial and marketing teams with program testing, brand trackers, promo testing, and brand studies.
- Assist with custom primary research projects from start to finish, including research design, writing surveys, analyzing results, and writing reports and presentations.
- Program and proof surveys using various online platforms.
- Assist with analyzing research data to develop strategic insights and in preparing reports for internal clients.
- Help review and synthesize existing secondary research studies on the news landscape to help internal clients stay on top of consumer trends.
- Identify and pull video clips as needed for research projects.
- Assist the team with coordinating and planning research presentations.
- At least 1 year of experience in market research or any similar quantitative research field, inclusive of internships
- A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in communications, psychology, sociology or another social science
- Knowledge of quantitative research methods (survey design, analysis, and statistics)
- Ability to integrate and interpret syndicated data sources alongside primary research
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint

- Demonstrated enthusiasm for consumer insights research
- Interest in both quantitative and qualitative research
- Comfortable using AI-assisted methodologies to execute research projects
- Highly organized and able to prioritize and execute on multiple projects
- Ability to work as part of a team and under tight deadlines
- Proactive problem solver
- Proficiency with solutions like SPSS, R, or Python for statistical analysis and cross-tabulation a plus

- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
