We are seeking a Utility & Sustainability Solutions Lead to support the implementation and delivery of utility management, energy analytics, sustainability, and financial management solutions for enterprise real estate clients.

This role combines subject-matter expertise with client delivery and product collaboration. The individual will help clients configure and deploy the software platform, validate data and analytical outputs, establish effective workflows, and translate results into meaningful business and operational insights.

The successful candidate will work closely with product, engineering, data, implementation, and customer success teams to provide feedback from client deployments and recommend enhancements that improve the platform’s scalability, usability, and analytical value.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support client discovery, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and ongoing platform optimization.

  • Translate client utility, sustainability, operational, and financial requirements into platform configurations, data structures, workflows, and reporting solutions.

  • Support utility bill management processes, including statement ingestion, bill validation, tariff review, invoice approvals, exception management, and utility follow-up.

  • Analyze utility consumption, demand, cost, building metadata, and operational data to identify trends, risks, data-quality issues, and performance opportunities.

  • Support the configuration and validation of energy and emissions baselines, weather-normalized performance, benchmarking, portfolio targets, and performance tracking.

  • Support the collection, organization, analysis, and reporting of energy conservation measures, sustainability initiatives, and related performance results within the platform.

  • Support sustainability reporting and compliance processes for programs such as ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, GRESB, CDP, Local Law 97, building performance standards, and related frameworks.

  • Support utility budgeting, forecasting, accruals, variance analysis, and reconciliation with actual invoices.

  • Develop clear dashboards, reports, analytical insights, and recommendations for client stakeholders.

  • Act as a subject-matter resource for client sustainability, energy, finance, accounting, engineering, and property-management teams.

  • Collaborate with product and development teams to identify common client needs, implementation challenges, workflow improvements, and product enhancement opportunities.

  • Contribute to reusable implementation methodologies, calculation standards, templates, and delivery playbooks.

Requirements
  • Strong experience in utility management, energy management, sustainability, ESG, real estate operations, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting programs across multi-building or enterprise portfolios.

  • Strong understanding of utility billing, invoice validation, utility account and meter structures, tariffs, and rate components.

  • Experience with utility budgets, forecasts, accruals, and cost-variance analysis.

  • Experience with energy or emissions baselines, benchmarking, targets, and performance-tracking methodologies.

  • Familiarity with energy conservation measures, decarbonization initiatives, and building-performance improvement programs.

  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting and regulatory frameworks such as ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, GRESB, CDP, Local Law 97, or similar programs.

  • Experience working directly with utility, building, operational, financial, and sustainability data.

  • Ability to translate complex client requirements into scalable software configurations, workflows, and product recommendations.

  • Strong analytical, communication, client-management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing or supporting enterprise utility, energy, ESG, or sustainability software.

  • Experience with measurement and verification, weather normalization, greenhouse gas accounting, or emissions reporting.

  • Familiarity with interval meters, submeters, building automation systems, BMS platforms, or IoT data.

  • Experience with business intelligence and analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python.

  • Relevant professional credentials such as CEM, CMVP, LEED AP, or GRESB AP are considered an asset.
