As a Senior HW Reliability Engineer, you will play an important role in ensuring the reliability and long-term performance of Nokia HW products. You will support new product development by defining and analyzing reliability specifications, while also evaluating products already in the field through failure rate, MTBF, useful life, and field data analysis.

In this role, you will collaborate with HW development engineers, architects, designers, and other engineering stakeholders. You will drive reliability-related tasks, reporting, and recommendations through the process, helping teams identify risks, validate reliability models, and make design improvements based on data.


Responsibilities

The Senior HW Reliability Engineer will

  • Support HW development engineers in product reliability topics.
  • Generate/analyze products' Failure Rate/Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) data, product useful life estimates, and field data reports.
  • Perform availability/Reliability modeling (e.g. Markov chains Models) to evaluate and forecast performance at the component, design block, assembly and product levels.
  • Estimate and/or investigate HW failure rates to assess any potential deviations from Nokia’s reliability standards.
  • Interact with product/HW/SW architects and designers to develop and validate the applicable reliability models and provide design improvement recommendations.
  • Analyze products predicted reliability data based on Bills Of Material (BOMs) and products field reliability data.
     
Qualifications

Must-have:

  • Engineering degree in applied science or related field with associated work experience (5-10 years).
  • Proven knowledge and ability to create Reliability modeling and Design Failure Model Effect Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Good understanding over HW design concepts and practices.
  • Excellent personal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Good presentation and communication skills both oral and written English.

Nice to have:

  • Good knowledge of some BTS HW products, from specific HW design discipline perspective.

Please note that this role requires presence at the Oulu office and we are not offering international relocation option for this position.
