We are looking for a Sales Engineer to join our team.

Our Sales Engineers provide comprehensive pre-sales engineering support Tier II CSP's, Utilities and State and Local customers in Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahome, North Dakota and South Dakota. The Sales Engineer teams closely with an Account Manager to position and sell Nokia solutions and services. Engineers work to understand customer requirements, define technical strategies, then configure, and quote optimal solutions.  Engineers advance Nokia's value proposition to position the account for progressive growth and success. This opening focuses on IP and Optical products and solutions.  Experience in Fixed Network technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

As part of the team, you will:

  • Evaluate and develop Network business opportunities in collaboration with the assigned territory Sales team
  • Act as a subject matter expert, engage customers, present viable technical solutions, and articulate the value to customers.
  • Support product demonstrations, lab evaluations and network trials.
  • Establish broad contacts both internally and externally, leverage these contacts to significantly grow the regional business within assigned territory. 
  • Identify customer requirements and communicate to internal pricing teams
  • Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, and services.
  • Provide pre-sales and post sales Engineering support
  • Travel: Up to 50% overnight travel to meet with customers, strategize with account leaders and represent Nokia at events.

Qualifications

You have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Utilities and / or mission critical segments.
  • Experience in CSP engagements and strong customer segment knowledge
  • At least 5 years of experience as a sales engineer, solution architect, or related technical role in telecommunications (IP, and/or Fixed Networks) industry
  • Practical experience with IP Networking, Routing and Switching including hands-on skills:
    • TCP/IP, IP/MPLS, RSVP-TE, LDP, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, Segment Routing, QoS, Routing Policy, MPLS Services (VPLS, VPWS, VRF, EVPN)
  • Advanced knowledge of Optical and FN Networking technology planning, deploying, and managing, of data-networking equipment
  • Ability to navigate obstacles in an often demanding, complex environment.
  • Demonstrated success in challenging customer facing roles; ability to build positive relationships and serve as the primary technical face of Nokia
  • Excellent written, communication and presentation skills.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Major Vendor Routing Certification (CCIE-SP, JNCIE-SP, SRA)
  • Business acumen and market/account strategy experience 
  • Vision to build the sales pipeline and foster long term growth opportunity in your accounts
  • Experience with Network Management Systems
