The mission of the team is to: 

  • Ensure the leadership mission of the Standardization and Ecosystem Engagement unit across North America (NAM).
  • Drive a favourable environment for standards engagement supporting Nokia’s strategic objectives in NAM.
  • Lead Nokia strategy and ensure consistent execution in NAM standardization bodies, especially ATIS and related forums.
  • Drive favourable standardization and technology-related policies across NAM.
  • Ensure strong standards engagement from Research & Innovation (R&I) with NAM customers, aligned with global Nokia priorities.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and influence standardization discussions with customers, ecosystems, and external partners in NAM, ensuring alignment with Nokia’s global standards strategy.
  • Drive policy engagement related to standards, including with TIA and ANSI.
  • Own the standards leadership agenda in NAM, including leading work items, chairing groups, and influencing elections.
  • As a people leader, manage and develop a team of principal and senior standardization experts engaged across NAM standardization topics.
  • Proactively evolve and prioritize the NAM standardization leadership roadmap in line with Nokia’s business and technology priorities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with SDO officials, customer technical leaders, and ecosystem partners in NAM.
  • Support the Spectrum Leadership team on NAM spectrum-related engagement and strategy.
  • Oversee and coordinate interfaces with customers, regional SDOs, regional organizations, Nokia customer teams, and internal governance bodies.

  • Technology R&I – Research and Standards teams
  • Nokia Business Groups and corporate stakeholders
Qualifications

You have:

  • Master’s degree (MS/M.Sc.) in Computer Science, Electronics & Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience in standardization and external engagements, ideally across multiple technology domains.
  • Strong understanding of Nokia Mobile Infrastructure technology areas—particularly 5G and the evolution toward 6G.
  • Strong customer orientation, with demonstrated ability to engage senior technical and policy stakeholders.
  • Ability to be inspirational, influential, and engaging as a leader.
  • Preferred Requirements

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Good understanding of Nokia Network Infrastructure (NI) key technologies, especially AI Data Centre infrastructure.
  • People leadership experience.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles.
