We’re Changing the Rentals Industry
We’re a profitable, growth-stage company specializing in industry-leading martech and data SaaS products for the rentals industry. Originally known for building and operating one of the U.S.’s largest rental marketplaces, Rentable, we have since expanded our portfolio to include two high-growth products: MavenAI, an AI mar-tech solution, and ApartmentIQ, a category-leading competitive intelligence software.
We’re a 100% remote team of 100+ spread across the U.S. from coast to coast. We operate on a strict no a**holes policy, and are proud to have built a community of highly performant people that take our work seriously, but not ourselves. And, we're looking for exceptional people to help further accelerate our growth.
While we’ve raised $30MM+ to date from some of the world’s best investors, we’re profitable with a strong balance sheet and an indefinite runway. We pride ourselves on achieving rapid growth without having to incinerate capital.
If you like the idea of joining an industry-changing company made up of people who genuinely like each other, Rentable could be a great fit for you.
The Role
We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on Head of Forecasting to lead our efforts in building smart, scalable, and accurate forecasting systems for ApartmentIQ, our market intelligence product. This is a high-impact role where you’ll combine deep technical expertise with big-picture thinking to guide our data science roadmap and unlock insights that directly shape the product and business.
You’ll work closely with product, engineering, and customer experience teams to embed predictive capabilities into the product. We’re looking for someone who’s equally comfortable writing model code as they are presenting strategy to execs.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the forecasting strategy and implementation across ApartmentIQ, driving the development of models that power our product and decision-making.
- Design and implement forecasting models using techniques like SARIMAX, Prophet, LSTM, and XGBoost, leveraging Python and its ecosystem.
- Work cross-functionally to identify the biggest forecasting opportunities, translate business questions into modeling tasks, and deliver insights at speed.
- Create clear, compelling stories from complex data and drive alignment with stakeholders across product, engineering, and leadership.
- Define and monitor key performance metrics for your models, and continuously iterate to improve performance in production.
- Help set the long-term vision for how forecasting can drive smarter products, better user experiences, and business growth.
What You Bring:
- 10+ years of experience in data science, with deep expertise in forecasting, time series modeling, and predictive analytics in the multifamily industry.
- Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
- Strong Python skills, especially with forecasting libraries like statsmodels, Prophet, TensorFlow/Keras, XGBoost, and scikit-learn.
- Solid understanding of model evaluation, experimentation, and deployment in production environments.
- Business savvy—you can connect model outputs to business outcomes and explain your approach to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with large datasets, SQL, and modern data stacks (bonus points for cloud or Spark experience).
- A bias for action, strong communication skills, and a love for solving ambiguous problems with data.
