Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job DescriptionThe Vice President, Brand Marketing will serve as a strategic leader responsible for developing and executing comprehensive brand marketing strategies across Versant's entertainment networks (USA, E!, SYFY, Oxygen) and sports properties. This role will drive brand positioning, consumer engagement, and revenue growth while providing critical marketing leadership support to both Distribution Sales and Ad Sales Marketing functions. The Vice President will also lead sports key partnerships marketing initiatives across our Golf vertical, WWE partnership, Premier League partnership, A10 college basketball partnership, NASCAR, and emerging partnership opportunities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement integrated brand marketing strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and viewership across all platforms (linear, streaming, digital).
- Lead comprehensive marketing campaigns for network programming, original content launches, and sports properties.
- Oversee brand positioning and messaging consistency across all consumer touchpoints.
- Drive consumer insights and research initiatives to inform strategic decision-making.
- Manage multi-platform marketing campaigns that maximize ROI and brand impact.
- Partner with Distribution Sales team to develop compelling marketing materials that support affiliate negotiations and renewals.
- Create customized marketing packages and value propositions for distribution partners.
- Lead co-marketing initiatives with cable, satellite, and streaming distribution partners.
- Collaborate with Ad Sales team to create marketing materials and campaigns that drive advertising revenue across linear, VOD, and digital platforms.
- Develop advertiser-focused presentations, case studies, and audience engagement data for advertiser meetings.
- Lead branded content and sponsorship marketing initiatives.
- Lead marketing strategy and execution for key sports partnerships including: Golf vertical programming and partnerships, WWE partnership marketing initiatives, Premier League partnership activation, A10 college basketball partnership marketing, NASCAR partnership marketing, Emerging sports partnership opportunities as they develop.
- Develop integrated marketing campaigns that maximize partnership value and audience engagement.
- Create cross-promotional strategies that leverage sports partnerships across entertainment properties.
- Manage sports partnership marketing budgets and performance metrics.
- Lead and develop a team of marketing professionals, including the Director of Brand Marketing and supporting staff.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture focused on innovation and results.
- Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to direct reports.
- Manage departmental budgets and resource allocation.
- Build and maintain relationships with external agencies and vendors.
- Lead the creation, strategic direction, and execution of the Versant Marketing Council across all Versant platforms.
- Establish metric-driven frameworks and relationship-building strategies that enhance cross-platform collaboration and marketing effectiveness.
- Drive council initiatives that maximize synergies and best practices across the Versant portfolio.
- Lead marketing strategy and execution for new streaming partner launch initiatives.
- Develop comprehensive go-to-market strategies that maximize platform adoption and audience engagement.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 12+ years of brand marketing experience in entertainment, media, or sports industries.
- Minimum 7+ years managing and leading marketing and creative teams.
- Direct experience building and managing marketing budgets.
- Direct experience with content/title marketing.
- Proven successful track record in television, digital or streaming marketing using brand campaigns, content marketing, media campaigns to elevate, engage and build audience awareness and engagement.
- Experience in streaming and digital marketing with a deep understanding of multi-platform content distribution.
- Direct experience supporting both ad sales teams and distribution teams (MVPD, digital, etc.)
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience in sports marketing, partnerships, or sports media preferred.
- Experience with subscription based direct-to-consumer marketing or e-commerce marketing.
- Track record of supporting sales organizations and driving revenue growth through marketing initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that drive business results.
- Strong presentation and communication skills for executive-level audiences.
- Successful track record of attracting top marketing and creative talent.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder marketing campaigns.
- Experience in fast-paced, evolving media landscape.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field; MBA a plus.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $190,000 - $250,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible)
