The Technical Writer designs, plans, coordinates, writes, and illustrates technical documentation and user guides in R&D product and system programmes. Plans, develops, writes and edits operational and maintenance information about the products, systems and solutions. These appear as web-based publications for internal and external users; sometimes including Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) and various forms of multi-media.
Are you a highly motivated technical writer who is passionate about problem-solving? As part of our team, you will:
- With limited guidance, plan, research and develop accurate, topic-based, user-focused technical documentation for the installation, operation, maintenance, and management of Nokia's Network Infrastructure solutions.
- Understand business and customer needs and follow a defined information development process to meet those needs; assist in designing information products that conform to Nokia documentation and quality assurance standards.
- In close collaboration with R&D, product line management (PLM), and other Nokia functional areas, gather any required source information through research and analysis of source materials; work with product prototypes and GUIs; test and validate components; and interview subject matter experts (SMEs).
- Modify information products in response to customer feedback and internal requests, and incorporate updates, new features, structural changes, and editorial comments.
- Assist with and follow documentation project plans and actively report contingencies in a timely manner.
You have
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Quality-focused technical writing and research skills to gather, share, and develop user-focused information as part of a global, diverse, and cross-cultural team

It would be nice if you also have
- Knowledge of XML authoring tools (such as oXygen) and content management systems (such as Git)
- Telecommunications or data networking knowledge and ability to quickly acquire domain knowledge through training
- Knowledge of the command line interface (CLI)
- Some experience with Confluence, JIRA, and SharePoint
- Desire to work with new hardware and software
- Previous Nokia experience
