We are seeking a Team Lead, DevOps with expertise in AWS to lead a high-performing team of engineers, drive infrastructure excellence, and enhance our CI/CD and cloud operations. This role requires a strong technical foundation in AWS cloud environments, automation, and DevOps best practices, along with leadership skills to foster an inclusive, innovative, and high-performance team culture. Experience with Google Cloud is a plus but not required.
What You’ll Do
- Lead a team of talented engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment focused on innovation, autonomy, and respect.
- Own and report on team progress, ensuring initiatives stay on track and deliver impact.
- Mentor and guide team members through code reviews, technical design discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions, and formal feedback cycles.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Product Management, and Design teams to define and execute a well-structured roadmap.
- Improve engineering best practices by identifying and evangelizing opportunities for productivity, automation, and security enhancements.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud environments, ensuring scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Set and uphold high standards for security, observability, clean code, and operational excellence.
- Manage hiring efforts, growing and scaling a strong DevOps team while contributing to hiring across engineering.
- Oversee CI/CD pipeline development and automation to improve deployment speed and reliability.
- Implement IaC (Infrastructure as Code) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Optimize system monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Ensure best practices in networking, security, and IAM management within AWS and other SaaS tools. Facilitate resolution of production issues, ensuring high system availability and performance. Provide RCA when appropriate.
- Stay up to date with AWS services and industry trends, driving continuous improvements.
Who You Are
- 2+ years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience.
- 5+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying scalable infrastructure solutions, with a strong focus on AWS.
- Deep expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS, EKS, etc.).
- Thrives in a high-autonomy, fast-paced environment balancing tactical and strategic priorities.
- Deep understanding of agile methodologies/mindset and experience facilitating agile ceremonies.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a customer focus.
- Passion for quality, security, and operational excellence.
Bonus Skills (Preferred but Not Required)
- AWS certifications (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS).
- Google Cloud experience is a plus.
