JOB SUMMARY
MetLife's Global Procurement team is seeking a dynamic and experienced Supplier Inclusion and Development professional who is passionate about driving supplier diversity initiatives and fostering sustainable business practices. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with procurement personnel, act as a liaison for our National Accounts organization, and serve as a subject matter expert in supplier diversity and sustainability reporting. This role requires a proactive and strategic approach to promote and enhance supplier inclusion and development programs within our organization.
The current open role is to provide support to the overall procurement systems team with respect to day-to-day development activities. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt quickly to the changing business environment and be responsible for developing partnerships with team members in the Procurement Operations, Strategic Sourcing, and Category Management teams. This position requires a flexible mindset with sound business judgment and an open willingness to understand organizational activities.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with Global Procurement Team

  • Partner with procurement personnel to integrate and promote supplier diversity goals and initiatives within the procurement processes.
  • Lead the organization's subject matter expertise on supplier diversity and sustainability reporting
  • Provide guidance and support in identifying diverse suppliers and integrating them into the supply chain


Liaison for Organization's Business Partners

  • Act as a key point of contact for national accounts team members to support and respond to request for proposal (RFP) activities related to supplier diversity and sustainability practices
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external organizations, fostering partnerships that align with our supplier inclusion and development objectives
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and forums to showcase our commitment to supplier inclusion and development


Supplier Diversity Programming:

  • Provide administrative direction and guidance for the numerous supplier diversity and educational and philanthropic endeavors that the Global Procurement organization supports
  • Stay informed of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to supplier inclusion, diversity, and sustainability
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to promote supplier diversity initiatives both internally and externally


Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Collect and analyze data related to supplier diversity and sustainability, preparing regular reports for internal stakeholders and external organizations
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance the effectiveness of supplier inclusion programs


Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related field; Master's degree is a plus
  • 3+ years of experience in supplier diversity, procurement, or related fields
  • In-depth knowledge of supplier diversity best practices, regulations, and sustainability reporting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to collect and interpret data for reporting purposes Proven project management skills and the ability to drive initiatives independently

The wage range for applicants for this position is $80,000 to $120,000. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. MetLife offers a comprehensive benefits program, including healthcare benefits, life insurance, retirement benefits, parental leave, legal plan services and paid time off. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
