Reddit is poised to rapidly innovate and grow like no other time in its history. The Ads Creative Management team is building new tools to store, catalog, and optimize advertiser images, videos and text. As a key member of this fast-growing team, you will have lots of ownership and opportunity to be at the cutting edge of building AI-based tools from zero-to-one.

As a Staff Backend Engineer on the Ads Creative Management team, you will build tools that make it easier for advertisers to create relevant, effective, visually pleasing ads on Reddit. The ideal candidate will leverage their knowledge of asset storage and management, AI/LLMs, and scaling services to develop world-class tooling and innovate on the behalf of our advertising partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Execution: Write clean, well tested, maintainable code that adheres to best practices.
  • Integration: Design and build solutions that span systems, and own the software design end to end.
  • Communication: Work in partnership with management and senior leadership to ensure alignment between technical and business goals.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross functional partners for feature development, bug fixes, and new system design to gather input and requirements.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify technical challenges and propose innovative solutions that align with the team's goals and contribute to the overall success of advertiser revenue growth

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience as a software engineer with recent experience in a Staff role
  • Experience executing on large scale projects from 0 to 1
  • History of mentoring and growing junior engineers.
  • Excellent communication skills. You must be able to collaborate effectively with teams in a remote environment, and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging to identify and resolve integration issues 
  • Software development experience in one or more general purpose languages: Python, Golang, Rust, Java, Javascript, etc

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. The base pay range for this position is:
$217,000$303,900 USD
