Description and Requirements
Product Director, Life and Disability (External Wholesaling)
Location: Anywhere
Job Summary:
• Responsible for supporting Life, Disability and Absence Sales Growth for Regional and/or National Accounts sales teams
• Position MetLife services, solutions and claim processes through RFPs, finalist presentations and broker strategy discussions.
• Provide technical Life, Disability and Absence support and deep advisory/consultative expertise to sales partners, proposal, and underwriting teams.
Functional Responsibilities:
• Strategic Sales Opportunity Support
• Best-in-class training (internal and external) Support
• Serve as Industry Leader for Group Life and Disability
• Serve as key contact with LAD Consultants and brokers
• Subject Matter Expertise and Competitive Intelligence for Life and Disability Products and claim processes
• Enhance partnerships by building, growing and maintaining relationships with sales partners, intermediaries and peers
• Promote positive culture within assigned product vertical and the COE
• Compliance with policy guidelines and adherence to assigned budgets, as applicable, including 30 day expense reimbursement submissions
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills Required:
• College and Advance Degree Preferred
• 10+ years of Group Disability and Absence claims experience preferred.
• Highly proficient and creative at solving problems
• Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously
• Highest level of dependability
• Strong knowledge of competitors and Industry Best Practices
• Ability to create strong internal and external partnerships
• Life and Health License in all States (must be obtained within 90 days of hire)
• ~30% Travel required
Key Competencies, Qualifications and Skills, Preferred:
• 10+ years Life and Disability Industry knowledge (UW, Claims, Sales Process)
• Knowledge of all Life and Disability product lines preferred
• Strong knowledge of competitors and Industry Best Practices
• Key relationships with brokers and consultants
• Ability to create strong internal and external partnerships
The wage range for applicants for this position is $120,000. This role is also eligible incentive compensation. MetLife offers a comprehensive benefits program, including healthcare benefits, life insurance, retirement benefits, parental leave, legal plan services and paid time off. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
