Job Description

The Strategic Analytics & Content Optimization team is a critical part of the NBCU Decision Sciences organization that leverages data of all kinds to support major organizational strategic initiatives and presentations, provides insights around key strategic brand and audience opportunities, and identifies and builds business cases for potential growth opportunities. This role will work closely with a variety of groups across Peacock, NBC, and Bravo including Marketing, Growth Strategy, and Business Development to turn business and consumer intelligence into tangible business outcomes.

In this role, you will blend strong analytical experience and strategic prowess to power decision-making for high-profile, cross-functional initiatives across the entire organization. The Senior Analyst of Strategic Analytics will delve extensively into 1st and 3rd party datasets to support executive reporting, business performance measurement, customer segmentation, and strategic initiatives focused on driving platform growth and viewer engagement.

The ideal applicant will be highly data driven, a strategic thinker, and a strong communicator with the ability to quickly learn to use and draw insights from various research tools.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Query and analyze complex datasets to develop actionable insights that enable decision-making and support initiatives across various teams within NBCU/Peacock
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify business needs and translate into analytical projects that reveal impactful and actionable insights
  • Apply a range of analytics and data science skillsets (from descriptive analytics to prescriptive analytics) to solve data problems
  • Support standard reporting needs, including dashboard development, to provide visibility into the health of the NBCU/Peacock business
  • Lead ad hoc analyses to answer critical time-sensitive business questions, identifying areas of strategic opportunity for the business
  • Provide proactive longer-term opportunistic business insights and formulate business cases by applying consumer and industry trends to NBCU’s iconic brands, IP, and franchises
  • Inform decision-making by visually and verbally synthesizing 1st party and 3rd party data (e.g. Nielsen) into easy-to-consume, impactful storylines for both operational and executive audiences
  • Be a member of a high performing, highly collaborative analytics team that promotes a culture of data-driven decision-making across the Peacock organization
  • Help contribute to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work culture at Peacock

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Marketing, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or other relevant quantitative fields
  • 2+ years of experience with querying and analyzing large complex data sets, data visualization, and data storytelling. 
  • Proficient expertise with analytical and data visualization tools (SQL, BigQuery, Databricks, Python, Tableau, or equivalent tools)
  • Must be well versed in Microsoft Office applications with significant experience working with Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Strong attention to data quality, with the ability to troubleshoot inconsistencies and ensure accuracy. 
  • Understanding of entertainment industry trends and how they affect consumer behavior across multiple platforms (Linear, Streaming, FAST)
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to derive conclusions and recommendations from raw data
  • Ability to identify, distill, and articulate clear and actionable stories, insights and recommendations from a variety of data points and sources 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Consulting or related industry role (media, entertainment, digital) a plus
  • Experience using data analytics techniques for a wide variety of uses cases, including customer segmentation and reporting on key performance indicators, a plus
  • Knowledge of data science techniques, a plus
  • Familiarity with Nielsen, a plus
  • Understanding of analytics for direct-to-consumer businesses (video streaming, eCommerce, or subscription) a plus
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail, sense of curiosity, accountability, and ability to execute projects of all sizes with vision and purpose
  • Ability to deliver on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
  • Team oriented and collaborative with an aptitude and willingness to learn

Additional Responsibilities

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
  • This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
