Job Description

The Capacity Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing capacity management strategies to ensure optimal resource utilization for the company's infrastructure. This role requires deep technical knowledge of infrastructure and systems, as well as experience in capacity planning, performance monitoring, and resource allocation.

What you get to do in this role:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive capacity management strategy for the company's infrastructure and systems, including servers, storage, networks, and applications.
  • Monitor resource utilization and identify areas for improvement, proactively making recommendations for optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that capacity planning aligns with business objectives and operational constraints.
  • Design and implement performance monitoring and reporting systems to track key performance indicators and identify trends in resource utilization.
  • Develop and maintain capacity models and forecasting tools to inform resource allocation decisions.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to capacity planning processes and procedures.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues related to resource utilization.
  • Analyze system performance data to identify opportunities for optimization and make recommendations to improve system performance and scalability.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
  • Bachelors or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred,
  • 10+ years of experience in capacity planning, performance monitoring, or related role
  • Strong technical skills in infrastructure and systems, including servers, storage, networks, and applications.
  • Experience with capacity modeling and forecasting tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $187,600 - $328,300, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
