The Senior Software Engineer will develop and enhance e-commerce systems, focusing on cloud-native platforms to improve customer experiences. The role requires collaboration to make technology choices and deliver high-quality applications, primarily using Typescript for backend and HTML/JavaScript for frontend development, with an emphasis on Shopify experience.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who is excited about building e-commerce systems that enable us to always fulfill our customers’ needs, and design web applications that are joyful to use. In short, we are looking for people who are eager to help create the future of Gopuff! The ideal candidate will have proficiency in web development, particularly within the e-commerce domain and have robust experience in Typescript for backend development and HTML/JavaScript for front-end work. Experience in Shopify is a significant advantage.
Your primary responsibility will be to continually create and improve cloud-native platforms as you add features critical to our customer experience. The right candidate will have the technical aptitude to drive good technology choices through collaboration with an empowered team. Success in this role will be measured by the team’s effective delivery of services. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about delivering consistently great experiences within our growing engineering team.
This is a Remote position for candidates based in NYC.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 6+ years of software development experience
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience in web development, specifically in the e-commerce sector.
- Experience with Shopify is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Typescript for backend development.
- Strong skills in HTML and JavaScript for front-end development.
- Previous experience customizing UI for e-commerce portals.
- Proven ability to interface web e-commerce with retail sales channels.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Build, deploy, and maintain your own code
- Implement and Monitor analytics to ensure the correctness of the business process
- Contribute to multiple team-wide business and tech objectives (beyond just the goals assigned to you).
- Participate in cross-functional projects in an agile environment
- Scope, decompose, and organize projects for multiple teammates.
- Delegate tasks and coordinate teammates to bring those projects to completion with minimal oversight.
- Generate time estimates with reasonable accuracy to help determine project timelines.
- Support standard development practices across your team, including idiomatic syntax, design patterns, and Test driven development
- Customize and maintain BevMo's e-commerce shopping & checkout experience.
- Implement geo-restricted promotions such as coupons, deals, and discounts.
- Build precise data synchronization between e-commerce and source of truth systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve and optimize omni-channel experience.
Compensation
- Gopuff pays employees based on market pricing and pay may vary depending on your location. The salary range below reflects what we’d reasonably expect to pay candidates. A candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. - NYC Range: $175,000 - $225,000
