Position Summary
The  Senior Revenue Accountant will be responsible for overseeing building manual revenue schedules for all contracs, reviewing and posting revenue each month close, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and working closely with cross-functional teams to streamline revenue processes. This role requires a strong understanding of ASC 606, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Oversee revenue recognition processes in accordance with ASC 606 and company policies.
  • Perform monthly revenue close procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Review customer contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition treatment.
  • Review customer contracts to ensure accurate billing and revenue reporting.
  • Analyze deferred revenue and ensure proper accounting treatment.
  • Assist in financial audits by preparing schedules and providing necessary documentation.
  • Continuously improve revenue processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of revenue accounting systems.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls.

Qualifications and Skills 
 
  • Bachelor’s degree, Accounting focus preferred. CPA a plus but not required.
  • 5+ years of experience in revenue accounting, preferably in a SaaS or technology industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, ASC 606, and revenue recognition principles.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct a plus and revenue recognition software such as Zuora or Maxio.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
