What you’ll do

  • Bring motion to life across a variety of deliverables including video, presentation, UI, and web to support product, customer, content, and brand marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with creative leads to concept, animate, and occasionally build storyboards from styleframes for video and motion content.
  • Execute high-quality motion design that strengthens the brand, pushes creative boundaries, and meets strategic business goals across multiple channels.

What you’ll bring

We are seeking a Motion Designer with a deep technical skill set across editing, animation, motion graphics, and visual design. In this role, you will act as a creative partner to our Creative, Post-Production, and Art Leads—bringing forward strong ideation, execution support, and solutions across a wide range of motion deliverables spanning video, presentation, UI, and web.

The ideal candidate is an expert in their craft with formal visual design training and a strong foundation in typography, composition, and color theory; essential for crafting cohesive motion pieces that align with and elevate our brand standards. They are passionate about storytelling through motion, using movement to communicate brand personality, values, and narratives thoughtfully and dynamically.

This person won’t just apply existing brand guidelines, they will collaborate closely with the creative team to extend, evolve, and define how our brand moves and feels across dynamic environments. They thrive navigating ambiguity, are nimble in finding creative solutions, and have a bias toward action and high-quality execution. With a motion design portfolio that demonstrates both craft and strategic thinking, this candidate sees opportunity in every project and is passionate about positioning our work at the forefront of SaaS video and motion design.

The minimum qualifications for this role include:

  • 5+ years experience in motion design and animation
  • Motion design portfolio required
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma
  • Proficiency in Canva motion programs and exporting for JSON/Lottie
  • Strong product storytelling experience working within SaaS

Preferred qualifications for this role include:

  • Strong aptitude for formal visual design with storyboard and design execution skills
  • Proficiency or developing proficiency in 3D motion and design
  • Expert in best practices for social video distribution channels
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 

How you’ll grow

Within 1 month, you’ll plant your roots, including:

  • Attend Sprout Social training to learn the ins and outs of the product and better understand the value that Sprout delivers to our customers
  • Get to know everyone across the Brand Creative team and critical leaders/stakeholders in Marketing
  • Start to familiarize yourself with Sprout’s brand story and family of products

Within 3 months, you’ll start hitting your stride by:

  • Attend stand-ups, project kick-offs, concept brainstorms with the Brand Creative team and our partners
  • Work closely with creative leads and stakeholders to kick off creative projects, and begin contributing to motion design work
  • Gain a good understanding of the Sprout customer and their needs, and how compelling storytelling can help solve their problems

Within 6 months, you’ll be making a clear impact through:

  • Provide motion design on projects from inception to completion
  • Be comfortable and proactive about working with the rest of the Brand Creative team to push the creativity of our storytelling and overall brand through motion
  • Maintain brand integrity while advancing creativity within all motion design work

Within 12 months, you’ll make this role your own by:

  • Elevate our video production strategies to towards becoming a leader in the SaaS industry 
  • Be entirely at home as a critical member of the Brand Creative team and company with a deep understanding of the stakeholders needs
  • Surprise us! Use your unique ideas and abilities to change Sprout in beneficial ways we haven’t even considered yet

Whenever possible, Sprout wants to provide our team with the flexibility to work in the location that makes the most sense for them. Sprout maintains a remote workforce in many places in the United States. However, we are not set up in all states, so please look at the drop-down box in our application to see whether your state is listed. Few roles require an office setting. If your position requires a physical presence in a Sprout office, it will be evident in the job listing and your offer letter.

Individual base pay is based on various factors, including work location, relevant experience and skills, the responsibility of the role, and job duties/requirements. In the United States, we have two geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires are:

  • Zone 1 (New York, California, Washington): $92,840.00 (min), $116,100.00 (mid), $139,260.00 (max) USD annually
  • Zone 2 (All other US states): $84,400.00(min), $105,500.00 (mid), $126,600.00 (max) USD annually

The listed ranges represent the full earning potential in this position. Starting salaries for well-qualified new hires are typically around the midpoint of the range. These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set equitable, consistent, and competitive ranges. We also evaluate compensation bi-annually, identify any changes in the market and make adjustments to our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.

Base pay is only one element of an employee's total compensation at Sprout. Every Sprout team member has an opportunity to receive restricted stock units (RSUs) under Sprout’s equity plan. Employees (and their dependents) are covered by medical, dental, vision, basic life, accidental death, and dismemberment insurance, and Modern Health (a wellness benefit).  Employees are able to enroll in Sprout’s company’s 401k plan, in which Sprout will match 50% of your contributions up to 6% with a maximum contribution. Sprout offers “Flexible Paid Time Off” and ten paid holidays.
