Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Performance Engineering Leader to:

• Build & manage a team of highly talented Performance Engineers in a fast-paced agile development environment.
• Partner with Development, Product management, SRE & Quality Engineering teams to scale ServiceNow platform, products & infrastructure.
• Provide technical expertise & help platform engineering team establish and achieve performance & scalability goals.
• Use critical thinking skills to solve difficult and sometimes ambiguous Performance problems.
• Establish consistency in performance measurement, observation, and tooling approaches across engineering teams and products.
• Investigate and help resolve current performance challenges for better customer experience.
• Grow the technical expertise teams in areas of development, performance, and scalability in line with agile development practices.

Qualifications

• 12+ years industry experience with 8+ years in the areas of Performance Engineering / Testing / Architecture / DevOps.
• 6+ years of proven leadership experience in managing multi-cultural and geographically disparate teams.
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, and any related discipline
• Knowledge of ServiceNow platform / applications a plus.
• Excellent communication and people skills, conflict management, time management and interpersonal skills required. Must be able to communicate at a level appropriate to the audience
• Hands on experience working with Java Platform, Java scripting, MySQL / Oracle / Postgres database.
• Strong scripting, debugging, monitoring skills using JMeter or any other industry standard load testing tool.
• Deep knowledge and experience with the Unix operating system in large-scale production environments
• Background with test and server monitoring tools (e.g. App Dynamics, Jenkins, Splunk, New Relic)
• Experience in collaborating with Development, Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Security in evaluating performance & scalability issues.
• Experience architecting solutions for high volume transactional SaaS Systems.
• Hands-on experience building enterprise level test automation and performance test suites.
• Desire to seek continuous improvement on the quality assurance processes.

For positions in the Bay Area, we offer a base pay of $181,100 - $316,900, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location.
