Reddit is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join the Growth ML team. The Growth ML team focuses on enhancing the user journey from top-of-funnel acquisition to personalized onboarding, helping users discover and engage with relevant content. We’re looking for a candidate with a strong ML background who is eager to tackle complex, ambiguous problems and build solutions from the ground up. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the Growth organization.
This is a high-impact role where you’ll shape both the technical and product strategy, influencing operations, architecture, and execution for one of the largest platforms in the world. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by driving key metrics like daily active users (DAU) and improving user retention, playing a critical role in Reddit’s growth and long-term success.

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with engineers to enhance the experience of new and low-signal users by applying advanced ML techniques to power personalization and discovery.
- Train, evaluate, and deploy sophisticated machine learning models to improve experiences for millions of users
- Participate in the full software development cycle: design, develop, QA, deploy, experiment, analyze and iterate
- Collaborate across disciplines and with other ML teams at Reddit to find technical solutions to complex challenges
- Work with large-scale data, models, piplelines and product integration.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional, hands-on experience as a Machine Learning Engineer working with data-intensive systems and building production-quality software (preferably in Python or Golang).
- Strong theoretical knowledge of machine learning and statistical concepts, including feature engineering, model training, and evaluation.
- Proven experience with large-scale data processing technologies (e.g., Kubeflow, Airflow, BigQuery, GraphQL, Kafka, Redis).
- Proficiency in SQL and the ability to derive insights from large datasets.
- Passionate about building user-centric, delightful products.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Big Plus:
- Experience with recommendation systems, ranking algorithms, and/or deep learning models.
- Familiarity with stream processing platforms such as Kafka, Flink, or KSQL.
- Proven experience addressing cold-start or new-user challenges at scale.
- Proven experience developing real-time machine learning systems that respond quickly to user behavior on the platform.

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. The base pay range for this position is:
$216,700—$303,400 USD
