Retirement & Income Solutions is looking for Sr. Full Stack Engineers to be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of software solutions, based on standards and processes which establish consistency across the enterprise, reduce risk, and promote efficiencies. We are looking for someone who's skilled with modern technologies, such as Generative AI, Cloud-native applications with high scalability architecture, DevSecOps best practices, etc., who is forward-looking and can leverage emerging industry technologies and is comfortable with hands-on experimentation. As an agile team member, you will collaborate closely with the Scrum Lead, Product Owner and ART Leadership to ensure your work is meaningful and aligns to business goals and objectives. You will have an opportunity to impact every part of the system, foster and cultivate your curiosity and iterate over solutions to be the very best you can be to deliver for our customers. The role is expected to have extensive experiences of software development and related middleware and infrastructure considerations, stay abreast of leading-edge technologies, such as Generative AI and Cloud native application design and implementation, and will be a critical team member within an Agile Release Train.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the collection and documentation of user requirements
- Analyzing, designing, and driving solutions for major components and features
- Implementing enterprise caliber web and backend solutions
- Ensuring secure, high code quality across the entire team
- Investigating and resolving production management incidents, problems, and service requests
- Interfacing with key stakeholders and business leaders
- Working with cross-functional teams for delivery
- Perform design and code reviews ensuring compliance with best practices and acceptable performance
- Mentoring Mid-Level/Junior Software Engineers
Position Requirements
Required:
- Eight plus years software development experiences with five years in full-stack software engineering
- Ability to build, deliver and operate complex systems (preferably Cloud-native)
- Proficiency with Java application development with more than 5 years experience
- Proficiency with Javascript frameworks (ReactJS preferred) with more than 3 years of experience
- Solid understanding of Generative AI concepts and technologies, preferably with hands on experience developing solutions using certain AI frameworks (e.g. Azure Open AI or other LLMs / SLMs).
- Proficiency with RESTful API with more than 3 years of experience
- Proficiency with various database technologies and solutions, including both SQL (Oracle or MS SQL Server preferred) and NoSQL (CosmosDB preferred), with more than 3 years of experience
- Git-based repositories such as GitHub, Bitbucket or Azure Repos
- More than 3 years of working experience in Agile teams
- Cross functional leadership: organize, motivate, and lead those outside of the team
- Proficiency with Microservices and RESTful API with more than 5 years of experience
- Container-based development leveraging Docker and/or Kubernetes
- Experience with DevSecOps practices and tooling for CI/CD, release management, and automation using Azure DevOps, Atlassian, or Jenkins
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree or more advanced degree in Computer Science / Engineering or related field
- Experience with DevOps practices and tooling for CI/CD, release management, and automation using Azure DevOps, Atlassian, or Jenkins
- Experience with modern web frameworks such as Node.js, AngularJS, and others
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Services: Functions, AKS, ASE, CosmosDB, Storage, App Service
- Experience with MACH architecture (Microservices, API, Cloud, Headless) and cloud-first infrastructure
- Experience with Junit/Mockito or equivalent unit testing frameworks
- Experience with Veracode and security best practices
- Websphere Application Server experience is a plus
- Experience with tools such as helmcharts, ansible and Terraform are a big plus
This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation.
