About the Role:
We are looking for a passionate and visionary leader to spearhead our Developer Experience (DevX) strategy, driving the development and execution of products, projects, and programs shaping the future of creators on the ServiceNow platform. As the Senior Director of Developer Experience, you will be responsible for shaping our DevX strategy, fostering a vibrant developer community, and ultimately making it easier and more enjoyable for developers to build on our platform.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the DevX team: Build and empower a high-performing team of engineers, product managers, and designers focused on creating exceptional developer experiences.
  • Develop and execute DevX strategy: Define the vision and roadmap for DX, aligning it with overall business goals and ServiceNow platform capabilities.
  • Product Ownership: Oversee the development and lifecycle of DevX products, including APIs, SDKs, developer tools, and documentation.
  • Community Engagement: Foster a thriving developer community through events, programs, and active communication channels.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and expertise to internal teams
  • Metrics and Measurement: Establish and track key metrics to measure the success of DevX initiatives and inform future strategic decisions.
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, marketing, and sales, to ensure a seamless developer experience.
  • Stay at the forefront of DevX trends: Continuously research and evaluate new technologies and trends to keep our DevX offerings at the leading edge.


Qualifications
Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in software development and engineering leadership experience, preferably with experience in the ServiceNow platform.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of developer experience best practices and principles.
  • Experience in product management and/or program management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for building and fostering developer communities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


Bonus Points:

  • Experience with building and scaling developer tools and platforms.
  • Experience working with open source technologies.
  • Active participation in the ServiceNow developer community.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based technologies and architectures.


For positions in the Bay Area, we offer a base pay of $216,700 - $379,300, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location.
