This role is part of our Content Design practice within the experience design organization, which includes a diverse set of skills and backgrounds such as interaction designers, researchers, visual designers, technical writers, and more. We use our superpowers of empathizing with users, understanding their needs, and applying our expertise of designing through language to create product experiences customers love. At ServiceNow, design has a very intentional seat at the table, so our team collaborates closely with both engineering and product management from the get-go.

What you get to do in this role:  

  • Lead UX writing: Actively participate in cross-functional teams, taking ownership of UX writing needs for 1 to 2 products. This includes creating content wireframes, information hierarchies, prototypes, content standards, glossaries, and more. 

  • Develop content strategy: Use data and insights from customer research to define and manage product-level content strategy, with a focus on long-term goals beyond the immediate release. 

  • Contribute to team projects: Collaborate on various content design team initiatives, such as enhancing the design system, style guide, terminology standards, reusable patterns, and AI writing tools. 

  • Advocate for user-centric design: Ensure that all content in the user interface is user-friendly, accessible, and aligns with voice and tone standards. 

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:   

  • 5+ years of experience in content design, content strategy, copywriting, or related field; B2B experience preferred   

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Human-Computer Interaction Design, or other relevant field, or equivalent work experience  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with solid understanding of English grammar, structure, and punctuation  

  • Working knowledge of design principles and methods, and tools (Figma, Sketch, Miro, Invision)  

Basic Qualifications:  

  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry. 

  • Experience participating in the complete product development lifecycle of web and/or software applications  

  • Experience in user experience design or industry experience (corporate, software, web or agency)

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $126,700 - $215,400, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
