The Risk Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing DFIN's insurance portfolio and business continuity program. You will also help implement the company's global environmental, social, governance (ESG) strategy and assist with climate, health and safety program initiatives. As part of the compliance organization, the Risk Manager will work closely with operations, HR, IT and other stakeholders to promote DFIN's resilience and regulatory preparedness. This position reports to the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Manage DFIN's insurance portfolio globally to maintain appropriate coverage, coordinate claims related to such policies, and attend to requests from customers, lenders and other third parties regarding such policies.
- Plan and implement business continuity and crisis management policies and procedures that comply with internal and regulatory requirements as well as industry best practices. Develop, conduct and/or coordinate tabletop exercises for business continuity and crisis management preparedness.
- Monitor ESG metrics and disclosure practices with consideration for rating organizations' methodological developments, relevance to investor, client and employee stakeholders and evolutions in best practices.
- Implement climate initiatives such as greenhouse gas inventory, renewable energy credits, responsible water use, and recycling. This will include both maintenance of existing programs and identification and development of new initiatives as regulatory demands and best practices evolve.
- Keep abreast of changes, interpret and ensure compliance with laws and regulations that impact the organization and propose risk-based approaches to the company's compliance and governance practices.
- Manage efforts related to audits, reviews, and examinations as necessary.
- Develop and support Key Performance Indicators and compile metrics using various software tools and platforms to promote enterprise risk management and report to appropriate oversight committees.
- Conduct peer analysis, analyze data and information, assess trends and risks to maintain an up-to-date view of our risk management and compliance activities and make recommendations to improve business continuity, ESG and risk management performance.
- Review written compliance policies and procedures and maintain tools and templates for risk programs and standards as required.

- Prepare and deliver compliance awareness communications (e.g. articles, guidelines, tips and training), and other communication to stakeholders regarding new developments and trends.
- Apply knowledge of risk management practices to oversee a variety of activities, including but not limited to sustainability, risk assessments, incident investigations, disaster recovery planning, emergency response, environmental protection, and cybersecurity and data privacy.
- Maintain high quality relationships with internal/external stakeholders and collaborate with operations, HR, IT and other stakeholders to achieve objectives while providing excellent customer service.
- Provide leadership in planning, organizing, and managing workshops, oversight committees, and management reviews with senior leadership.
- Hire and supervise consultants, when required, to achieve compliance with specific programs.
- Maintain risk management files and records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years of proven experience preferably in a corporate environment, in several areas, including compliance, risk management, information security, and data protection.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply risk management and compliance standards.
- Experience working directly with all operational divisions of a business (e.g. operations, HR, IT and other stakeholders).
- Resilient self-starter who can act independently and learn quickly.
- Commitment to quality, strong attention to detail and respect for timelines & deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal, web, and face-to-face communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, including ability to manage multiple competing initiatives.
- High level of integrity with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Capable of thriving in a hybrid workplace where most employees work remotely and others work onsite.
