 Overview

Join the forefront of in-store retail innovation as the Product Manager for Retailer Tools at Caper. This role sits at the critical intersection of cutting-edge cart technology and real-world retail operations, where you'll build the infrastructure that enables global retailers to deploy and manage Caper Carts at scale.

As a key member of our Retailer Tools pillar, you'll be responsible for the tools and systems that keep Caper Carts running smoothly in-store—including anti-theft capabilities powered by AI systems leveraging ML models, computer vision, and VLMs, alongside web and mobile applications that form the complete operational toolkit for store associates, managers, and corporate teams. You'll define and execute strategic projects that enable mass adoption with enterprise retailers, translating complex operational challenges into elegant, scalable solutions.

This role is for someone with a strong entrepreneurial spirit who thrives at the intersection of B2B software and physical retail operations. You're energized by working directly with end users to understand their pain points and craft solutions that solve real operational problems. You bring analytical rigor, combining qualitative customer insights with quantitative data to drive decisions, and you understand the unique dynamics of enterprise retail customers at scale.

Caper is revolutionizing retail with our smart shopping carts powered by deep learning and cutting-edge computer vision. Caper’s unique technology is a plug- and-play solution that does not require retail store renovation or operational overhaul – retailers simply purchase smart shopping carts and the entire store is upgraded with cashierless capabilities.

Caper is one of the fastest-growing retail automation technology products in the market and is already widely adopted in the marketplace.  Our cross-functional and durable Product team solves hard user & business problems in ways that our users love.

 About the Job
  • Own a critical product area and help define and drive the strategy, execution, and measurable outcomes.
  • Deeply understand and articulate the what and the why behind our customers pain points to build and drive an outcome oriented product roadmap.
  • Work extensively in our labs and retail partners to test features, observe user behaviors, and iterate quickly; support pilots and launches as needed.
  • Lead the entire product lifecycle, from deep user and retailer discovery to final delivery. Use qualitative and quantitative research, retailer feedback, and industry best practices to identify new opportunities. Intake, validate, and convert new ideas into implementable projects with clear success metrics, and PRDs/specifications.
  • Champion best-in-class design and user experiences.
  • Drive cross‑functional alignment by partnering closely with Engineering, Hardware, Design, Data Science, Operations, and QA teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions; communicate tradeoffs, risks, and progress with transparency.
