About the Opportunity

As a Payroll Manager at Found, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our team members are accurately and efficiently compensated, supporting the financial well-being of our employees. As an individual contributor, you will sit within the Finance team, working closely with HR and Finance to maintain compliance with payroll regulations and to continuously improve payroll processes.

This role is a unique opportunity to be part of a mission-driven organization that is rapidly growing and making a meaningful impact on the health and lives of our members. In this part-time role of approx 20 hours a week, you’ll have the flexibility to manage payroll operations while contributing to a team that’s committed to delivering long-term, sustainable results for its members.


What You’ll Do (Job Responsibilities)

  • Process semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll for part-time and full-time employees and 1099 contractors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including employee information, timecards, and deductions.
  • Coordinate with HR and Finance teams to ensure proper handling of benefits, bonuses, and other compensation adjustments.
  • Manage submitting payroll tax fillings, and support year-end processes, such as W-2 distribution.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve any discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with payroll laws and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.


What You’ll Bring (Job Qualifications)

  • Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably 3 years within a multi-state organization. Bonus points for start-up experience. 
  • experience with full-cycle payroll processing
  • Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., Paycor, ADP, Gusto) and accounting systems.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain payroll processes to employees.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities.
