Job Description

The Zscaler Public Sector Professional Services team has the responsibility of guiding Zscaler’s customers in the deployment and adoption of Zscaler technologies throughout our Public Sector customer base (Federal, SLED, & Healthcare). The team is composed of a cadre of Consultants and Project Managers located throughout the United States who specialize in supporting US Public Sector customers. This opportunity is for the Public Sector Professional Services Manager (remote) position and the candidate will perform the majority of their work remotely, although travel to customer site(s) or Zscaler facilities (e.g. San Jose, CA; Raleigh, NC; DC Metro) may be required on an as-needed basis.

NOTE: If the candidate lives within 45 miles of the San Jose, Raleigh, or Tysons Corner (DC) offices, it is expected that the manager will go into the local office as needed (not full time) with the time on site geared toward interaction with peers, relationship development, etc.

In this role, you will handle a broad range of responsibilities within the delivery of Professional Services to Zscaler’s customers, including team management and performance assessments. Additionally, you will work closely with cloud operations, engineering, support, and sales to ensure Zscaler Professional Services are delivered in a timely manner and help achieve the business objectives for our customers. To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a positive, engaging, and goal-oriented management style and must be comfortable working with cross functional teams.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a technical team of Consultants/Architects responsible for deployment and support of Zscaler solution(s).
  • Recruit and Grow the Public Sector Professional Services team, which includes: recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, professional development, and performance management within the Public Sector Professional Services team.
  • Collaborate with and assist the larger Zscaler Professional Services team to ensure the continued success of your fellow team members, Zscaler, and our customers.

Business Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Salesforce/PSA accuracy to ensure accurate forecasting/business intelligence of Professional Services objectives.
  • Drive operational excellence through process, procedures, tooling, training, and effective management of KPIs.
  • Establish and improve global deployment standards and best practices to drive consistency, quality, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate across other internal Zscaler departments to ensure Voice Of The Customer is represented.
  • Role expected to have a span of control ranging from 8 to 15 Consultants/Architects.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of Zscaler’s technologies and articulate the advantages of our solutions with customers.
  • Operate as a Trusted Advisor to customers and the Field Sales Teams, to ensure the customer’s business/strategic/technical objectives are realized in concert with helping expanding opportunities for the Field Sales Teams.
  • Be able to pass customer-required drug-screening, background checks, and/or vaccinations (e.g. COVID). Zscaler recruiter/hiring manager will provide details on the exact requirements when discussing this opportunity.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of prior work experience in similar technical positions (e.g. Solutions Architect, Systems Engineer, Professional Services Consultant, or a Professional Services Architect).
  • Prior work experience in developing, managing, and/or leading remote/geographically-dispersed employees & subcontractors.
  • Able to learn and support cutting-edge technologies while context-switching.
  • Comfortable talking about technical topics/issues with business people and business topics/issues with technical people; Able to express complex concepts in plain language to reach broader audiences.
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills across internal and external organizations.
  • Experience working within or directly with the US Federal Government, SLED customers, and/or Healthcare customers required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior or active US Federal Government/Public Trust/DoD clearance(s).
  • Prior work experience running Professional Services business/organizations.
  • 2+ years of prior work experience in similar manager positions (e.g. Professional Services, Sales Engineering, Customer Success).
  • Good understanding across a broad range of technology solutions related to Networking, Cloud, Security, and SaaS within Enterprise environments.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, PCNSA (or Higher), CISSP, or CCSP.

Additional Information

The base salary range for this full-time position is $135,000 to $175,000 + commission/bonus + equity + benefits.
Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
