About the role:

You’ll use data to uncover new opportunities, drive customer acquisition, and build seamless online experiences that empower customers to discover, try, and buy our products on their own. With expertise in modern web technologies, Python, and JavaScript, you’ll lead experiments, MVPs, and product launches that accelerate our self-serve growth engine. This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US.

In this role, you will: 

  • Manage a team of full-stack engineers to deliver customer-driven solutions in a fast-paced environment. The technology stack includes JavaScript, Vue, Python, GraphQL, and various AWS services. 
  • Support the growth of individual engineers on your team through mentoring/coaching and career-pathing.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to drive technical strategy.
  • Set quarterly goals and balance product/engineering priorities for maximum impact
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers to develop new products and enhance existing ones.
  • Drive roadmapping discussions and collaborate with our partners across the organization to influence the direction of our initiatives in a manner that best serves our customers
  • Perform code reviews and ensure proper design and delivery of major features
  • ​​Be hands-on and contribute to feature development
  • Set a high standard for the reliability of your components
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
  • Hire, develop, and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing team

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience, including 1+ years of direct people management experience leading a full-stack product development team. 
  • Understands the value of team culture, communication, and collaboration
  • Experience developing individual contributors based on their needs and interests, as well as the needs of the company
  • Is a technology business partner - recognizes the value in relationships with team members in and out of Engineering

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Has experience building, delivering, and managing large-scale customer-facing products.
  • Has an interest in understanding our users and what would make their day-to-day processes easier to manage.
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least one layer of our technical stack (JavaScript, Python).
  • AWS knowledge and expertise.
  • Experience working on Growth Engineering teams and/or solving business growth problems.

Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles. For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually.

We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$109,480$184,000 USD
