As our global footprint continues to grow, we are looking for an expert in Automotive Regulations and Global Market Access to support our Global Market Access (GMA) team. The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive regulatory compliance, vehicle type approval, certification requirements, and international market access processes.
As a GMA Knowledge Specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring and interpreting global automotive regulations, supporting research and consulting projects, and providing regulatory guidance to internal and external stakeholders. You will play a key role in helping customers navigate complex regulatory environments and achieve compliance across global markets.
This position offers an opportunity to work with automotive manufacturers, suppliers, technology companies, and certification bodies worldwide while supporting business growth and regulatory intelligence activities.

Responsibilities

As a UL GMA Knowledge Specialist, you will:

  • Serve as the key expert contact for automotive regulatory and compliance requirements related to global market access.
  • Monitor, analyze, and communicate changes in automotive regulations, standards, and certification requirements.
  • Support research and consulting projects covering multiple countries, regulations, and automotive product categories.
  • Provide regulatory guidance for vehicle systems, components, and emerging automotive technologies.
  • Support customers and internal stakeholders in understanding regulatory requirements and market access pathways.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, certification organizations, technical services, and industry stakeholders.
  • Support GMA business expansion initiatives and track opportunities and business outcomes.
  • Prepare regulatory summaries, impact assessments, compliance analyses, and market access guidance documents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in automotive regulations, homologation, certification, conformity assessment, or global market access.
  • Strong knowledge of global automotive regulatory frameworks, including UNECE Regulations, EU type approval requirements, FMVSS/NHTSA requirements, and other major international automotive regulatory systems.
  • Understanding of automotive product compliance topics such as vehicle safety, EMC, cybersecurity, software updates, connected vehicles, ADAS, electric vehicles, batteries, and vehicle systems.
  • Ability to connect regulatory requirements with customer needs and business opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and communicate requirements clearly.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple research projects and regulatory investigations.
  • Experience interacting with regulatory authorities, certification bodies, technical services, or industry associations is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
