The Intern will assist in streamlining reporting processes, developing financial dashboard modules, researching AI tools, and supporting team activities.

This job will reside within the U.S. FP&A team with primary location at 200 Park Avenue, New York, NY.
The Opportunity:
The Intern will be responsible for streamlining and process re-engineering of existing reporting processes by using new technologies. The intern would also be responsible to review files and presentations for accuracy (a critical part of FP&A) by comparing numbers to various other sources and assist the team during monthly and quarterly close activities. The Intern will also assist in developing new modules for the U.S. Financial Dashboard using Power BI and explore existing processes to develop use cases for automation using emerging AI tools like Power Automate and Habia which MetLife is partnering with. The Intern may also assist in special projects or ad hoc analysis.
This is an exciting opportunity to learn the latest financial technology tools and implement them in real world scenarios. Gain critical problem-solving skills and develop solutions by working around financial, data and process constraints. An opportunity to gain exposure to process automation, P&L management, financial technologies and data analytics to assist with future career endeavors.
Success in this role requires good analytical skills with a strong attention to detail. This role requires the candidate to quickly learn, research and implement solutions using Excel, Power BI and other technology tools so a passion to explore and experiment with such tools would be an asset. You'll collaborate closely with finance professionals to understand and improve processes and implement solutions.

* Assist in research of new AI tools and develop U.S. Finance use cases
What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)
* Ability to quickly self-learn new technology tools using online courses and discussion forums
* Exhibits good problem-solving skills and shows perseverance in getting things done
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Ability to plan, multi-task, and prioritize a variety of deliverables.
* Ability to support, facilitate and participate in activities that promote team effectiveness.
What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)
* Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
* Working towards CPA or CFA a plus
* Experience developing programming logic in any popular language. Experience with Power BI or basic code writing in DAX or M for data analysis a plus.
