Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled GIS Project Manager to join our team and drive improvements in IT processes and solutions within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) environment. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to design and enhance processes, gather user requirements, and ensure compliance with DHS Enterprise Architecture standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply knowledge of enterprise IT needs to design improved processes.
  • Generate and capture user requirements for IT solutions.
  • Ensure that solutions adhere to DHS Enterprise Architecture models, standards, and requirements.
  • Serve as an advisor on architectural matters.
  • Propose changes to existing architectures to meet emerging DHS requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to affect efficiencies in workflows.
  • Work towards improving outcomes through architectural changes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in geospatial solutions.
  • An advanced degree is preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of GIS tools/software
  • Demonstrated understanding of enterprise IT needs.
  • Proficiency in designing processes for IT improvement.
  • Ability to gather and document user requirements effectively.
  • Familiarity with DHS Enterprise Architecture models, standards, and requirements.
  • Strong advisory skills in architectural matters.
  • Capability to propose and justify changes to existing architectures.
  • Awareness of emerging DHS requirements.
  • Aptitude for identifying workflow efficiencies.
  • Track record of improving outcomes through architectural interventions.
