FPGA Implementation Specialist – 5G Radio Unit Digital Front End & High-PHY Solutions

Design, implement, and optimize FPGA-based Digital Front End and High-PHY functions for 5G Radio Units. Develop RTL (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog), integrate signal-processing IP (FFT/IFFT, DPD, CFR, beamforming, MIMO), target AMD Versal/AI Engine, perform synthesis/place-and-route/timing/power analysis, co-design with embedded processors and RF transceivers, and lead verification, simulation, and hardware validation activities.
The FPGA Implementation Specialist will drive the implementation, integration, and optimization of FPGA-based solutions for 5G Radio Units, focusing on Digital Front End processing and High-PHY functionality. This role is integral to delivering robust, low-latency, power-efficient wireless infrastructure solutions, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Implement and optimize FPGA-based solutions for 5G Radio Unit platforms, emphasizing Digital Front End (DFE) and High-PHY processing functions.
- Integrate and validate FPGA IP blocks for signal processing, including digital up/down conversion, filtering, CFR, DPD, beamforming, and timing synchronization.
- Implement High-PHY processing functions like FFT/IFFT, resource mapping, modulation, coding interfaces, and MIMO processing.
- Develop and maintain RTL code using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog, adhering to coding standards and implementation methodologies.
- Optimize solutions for AMD Versal adaptive SoCs, including Programmable Logic, Processing System, Network-on-Chip, and AI Engine subsystems.
- Implement and optimize AI Engine-based signal processing functions for DFE and High-PHY applications, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
- Support hardware/software co-design activities involving AI Engine kernels, FPGA fabric, and high-speed communication interfaces.
- Perform FPGA synthesis, place-and-route, timing closure, and power analysis, ensuring optimal resource utilization and performance.
- Integrate FPGA designs with embedded processors, RF transceivers, and system-level software components for seamless operation.
- Develop and execute verification activities, including simulation, testbench development, and hardware validation, to ensure functionality.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, or Computer Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience in FPGA development, implementation, and integration in telecommunications or wireless infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of FPGA implementation methodologies and RTL development using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
- Experience with AMD/Xilinx Vivado and Vitis development environments for FPGA solutions.
- Understanding of digital signal processing concepts and FPGA implementation techniques.
- Experience with FPGA synthesis, place-and-route, timing closure, and hardware debugging.
- Familiarity with high-speed digital interfaces and communication protocols.
- Knowledge of FPGA verification methodologies, simulation tools, and debugging techniques.
- Experience with laboratory equipment for hardware testing and validation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
