Within R&D Digital, the Veeva Platform & Services function is responsible for defining the strategy and leading the delivery of the Veeva product suite to end users.
As the VEEVA CoE Operations Director, R&D Digital, you will partner with the corresponding Service Delivery, Platform Governance, R&D Digital Creation Center and business users (Regulatory, Clinical, Quality and others, as needed) to enable optimized, seamless delivery, adoption of change and innovation for the VEEVA Platform Services.
You will lead the change management, innovation and roadmap, financials, and reporting for Veeva Development Cloud Applications.
To excel in this role, you should have strong skills in management of IT service operations, commercial aspects of Cloud software (SoWs, Licenses etc.), financial management (budgets and planning, CAPEX, OPEX and other financial processes), KPIs reporting and Risk Management. You will also have demonstrated success in forging, building and maintaining relationships with key Veeva stakeholders, within related technology functions and business user community, leading change, communication and adoption, innovation prioritization and roadmaps. Effective relationship skills are crucial for handling various stakeholder groups such as developers, R&D Digital Leadership, Client Partners, and the R&D business community.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $169,700.00 to $282,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. What You Will Achieve
- As the VEEVA CoE Operations Director, you will
- Forge and build relationships with key stakeholders within VEEVA CoE, R&D Digital and business users within Clinical, Regulatory, Quality areas and others as needed
- Define program governance framework for management of the program and service delivery, decision-making and risk management
- Drive adoption of the change and innovation with each release delivered by the Veeva Center of Excellence
- Provide required operational and strategic oversight to project teams - people, technological, and financial resources to budget.
- Apply technical, line, and business knowledge to influence the strategic direction for technical delivery cost savings.
- Drive services contract negotiations
- Coordinate with Veeva Customer Success Manager activities to drive product value and adoption
- Coordinate Product Management and Product Support activities
- Provide PMO and Project management expertise to ensure that all projects are delivered within scope, budget, and schedule in accordance with Pfizer Digital Lifecycle processes. Liaise with stakeholders to manage and control changes to project parameters.
- Act independently to review projects/programs against business case when completed to ensure projected benefits are being realized.
- Support the service Delivery accountability for global Vault implementations in Clinical, Quality, and Regulatory (RIM) solutions
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
- Bachelor's degree in information management, Computer Science, Engineering, or Technology Management preferred.
- 8+ Years of Project Management experience, preferably in pharmaceutical industry with strong understanding of project management methodologies and principles
- 5+ years in large-scale program management, preferably in pharmaceutical industry
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience understanding business requirements, technical concepts and business processes.
- Demonstrated experience in vendor negotiations with cited impacts to strategic direction and in-line production products.
- High level of awareness of internal and external technology trends.
- Strong facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Strong working knowledge on MS Tools - Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING
- Project Management Professions (PMP) Certification
- Agile Certification

- As above and including Master's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology Management or relevant disciplines.
- Experience in establishing and orchestrating an Enterprise Center of excellence, preferably with large platforms like Veeva Vault, SAP, Salesforce
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish relationships, influence outcomes, and deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to work with others in a constructive and collaborative manner & influence resources outside of the immediate span of control.
- Ability to lead in a complex, matrix environment with geographically distributed resources.
- Ability to take a systematic approach to estimation of technical projects.
