About the Role

iCapital is seeking a high performing Vice President, Alternatives Distribution to lead sales coverage for the Eastern Canada region. As a senior sales leader, this role will be responsible for driving adoption of alternative investment solutions across Canadian registered dealers, investment advisors, family offices, and private wealth platforms. This role sits within iCapital’s Canadian Alternatives Distribution business and will play a key role in deepening advisor engagement, scaling the distribution footprint, and contributing to the continued growth of the alternative’s ecosystem in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Build deep expertise across a curated offering of private credit, private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and hedge fund strategies.
  • Develop and execute a proactive regional coverage plan to expand iCapital’s presence among advisors and dealer platforms.
  • Use a consultative sales approach to acquire new relationships, expand existing accounts, and provide exceptional ongoing client service.
  • Deliver thoughtful advisor education on incorporating alternative investments into diversified client portfolios.
  • Partner with Canadian leadership to refine the coverage model (i.e. regional segmentation, territory optimization, investor base analytics).
  • Lead onboarding and engagement of new advisor relationships onto iCapital’s platform to facilitate product access and adoption.
  • Collaborate across iCapital’s stakeholders position the firm’s value proposition and service offerings effectively.
  • Represent iCapital at regional and national industry events, conferences, and advisor seminars.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and market presence as one of the senior external faces of the Canadian distribution business.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of client facing experience in the Canadian investment industry (i.e. external wholesaling, capital raising, national accounts, client portfolio management, product specialist roles)
  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Bi-lingual in English and French is required
  • Demonstrated success selling or supporting a diverse range of investment strategies, ideally with exposure to alternative investments
  • Direct relationships with Canadian banks, independent dealers, family offices, and investment advisors within the target region
  • CFA or CAIA certification or progress toward completion is preferred
  • Meets the regulatory requirements to be registered as a Registered Individual (Exempt Market Dealer). CIM designation or CSC completion is preferred
  • Highly motivated self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial, growth-oriented environment with limited oversight
  • Outstanding relationship building, communication, and presentation skills
