The Unified Communications (UC) Engineer will engineer Projects including but not limited to new MS Teams Phone Implementations, migrations from Cisco IPT or PBX environments, building new MS Teams Service aspects as needs emerge, consult on MS Teams Phone service architecture, engage with cloud PSTN Vendors, and follow service roadmaps and standards.

Role Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
- Designs, plans, and troubleshoots Microsoft Teams voice solutions.
- Configures and manages core communication capabilities in Microsoft Teams, including calling plans, phone systems, Direct Routing, and voice routing policies to optimize call quality.
- Sets up emergency calling, network settings, and call routing while understanding voice applications and services within Microsoft 365.
- Deploys Microsoft Teams Phone at an enterprise-wide scale across various platforms, including Windows, iOS, Teams Devices, and desk phones.
- Integrates Microsoft Teams with existing PBX and Cisco Systems, ensuring seamless functionality, call quality management, and troubleshooting.
- Continuously enhances expertise in Teams voice features and unified communication systems.
- Adheres to engineering methodologies, industry standards, and best practices.
- Produces clear, concise, and audience-tailored documentation.
- Follows Pfizer, C-TIES, and ITIL guidelines for Unified Communications (UC) Engineering.
- Ensures all work is completed and recorded in accordance with established standards, methods, and procedures.
- Provides troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and service improvement solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- +2 years of related work experience in UC Engineering on on-prem and/or cloud systems.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and independently.
- Experience collaborating with third-party vendors, including PSTN carriers, cloud providers, Microsoft, and Cisco.
- Demonstrated analytical and systematic problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to understand business needs and translate them into feature engineering solutions.
- Self-motivated with a drive for continuous improvement, automation, and process optimization.
- Excellent management, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Adaptability to shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change in dynamic environments
Preferred technical qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of key products, including Cisco Call Manager, Microsoft Teams, Telephony, Voice over IP, Public Switched Telephone Network, Internet, and cloud computing.
- Hands-on experience with appliances such as AudioCodes SBCs and Cisco Voice Gateways is an added advantage.
- Experience supporting Windows platforms and Azure cloud environments is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Power Apps to support complex data handling needs in projects (Excel Pivot tables, data exports/imports, Power Apps) is beneficial.
- Basic understanding of database technologies, including MySQL and MSSQL.
- Demonstrated intermediate to advanced knowledge of operating systems and dependent platforms, such as Microsoft Windows.
- Foundational understanding of networking concepts, including LAN, WLAN, WAN, DMZ,and VPN, as well as Quality of Service, Call Admission Control, and routing.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting tools and techniques for networks and systems, including remote access tools, Windows Support tools, and connectivity tests.
- Experience supporting applications, platforms, and services in clustered, federated, shared, or virtual environments.
- General understanding of IT security concepts as they relate to production environments.
