The Role

As an SMB Account Executive focused on outbound sales, you will be responsible for driving new business growth for CodeSignal’s Hire product suite. You’ll own the full sales cycle, from identifying and prospecting potential customers to closing deals. This role emphasizes outbound lead generation and the ability to build relationships, uncover pain points, and provide innovative solutions. You’ll work collaboratively with the broader sales and marketing teams to achieve revenue targets and expand our customer base. A results-oriented mindset, proactive communication, and a passion for outbound sales are essential to thrive in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Outbound Prospecting & Lead Generation

  • Research and identify high-potential prospects within the SMB space.
  • Execute targeted outbound sales strategies to generate new business opportunities.
  • Qualify leads, understand customer pain points, and move prospects through the sales funnel.

Sales Presentations & Closing Deals

  • Conduct product demos and deliver tailored presentations to prospective customers.
  • Develop compelling proposals and value-based solutions aligned with customer needs.
  • Negotiate contract terms and close sales to meet or exceed targets.

Customer Relationships & Insights

  • Build and nurture relationships with prospects, understanding their business challenges and goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, offering solutions that align with their talent acquisition strategies.
  • Partner with internal teams (Marketing, Customer Success) to ensure seamless onboarding and ongoing customer success.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Collaborate with Marketing on outbound campaigns and messaging.
  • Work with Account Managers and Customer Success Managers for smooth transitions post-sale.
  • Share market feedback and customer insights to inform product development and sales strategy.

Salary Projection

In accordance with local regulations in jurisdictions where CodeSignal may hire, we are projecting an annual total on-target earnings (OTE) in the range of USD $90K-$140K. This range is based on San Francisco benchmarks and encompasses all seniority levels eligible for this position. Offer packages often contain additional compensation in the form of commission bonuses, equity, and/or benefits. Offers are awarded on an individual basis and are subject to factors such as, without limitation, a candidate’s level of experience, growth trajectory, and local labor market. Employees' compensation is reviewed and adjusted regularly.
